Look at this

(The #50070 error message and the fact that it was WSS 2.0 (as in Event
Source below) was essential for me to be able to find this)

the database does not exist on the db server. This may work if the db
actaully existed, but the db does not exist. So I have to find out what is
trying to connect to it

Check your Virtual Servers list and the same table in the Config db, that
will be where the database name is listed. Sounds like you have an orphan
site. We had to engage PSS to resolve it when it occurred on one of our
farms. Don't remember the exact resolution but I believe we created a db
with the same name, re-extended the site then deleted it correctly but do
rememeber it was tricky

Moving to SharePoint - Advice? SharePoint I have had several clients ask about putting their Access database on the web. So the inevitable any longer: I am going to have to get up to speed on SharePoint - specifically as it relates to porting Access 2010 dbs and linking the two. Any advice other resources that might be helpful. Also, I imagine I will have to purchase some SharePoint hosting for development and testing, correct? Anyone have any recommendations for inexpensive hosts for single-person developers? Thanks in advance for any assistance! Share point installation on windows server 2008 R2 SharePoint I have registered for MS partnership programs and gat the setup CD for Windows Server 2008 R2 and installed it. I have even the sharepoint Installation cd 64-bit. When I tried to install the sharepoint server I got the exception as there are compatibility issues. I have also searched for that I should install WSS3.0. I have downloaded it and installed. After installation, the sharepoint server also got installed and when I try to add any new document under shared section, I am getting an exception. Would any one help me in resolving the issue? Is there a "best practice" for establishing isolated development, quality assurance, and production SharePoint instances? SharePoint I am attempting to understand how a successful site handles development versus qa versus production environments for SharePoint. What I mean is this - one could have one sharepoint instance, and use sharepoint permissions to limit the number of people who see work on a site before it same, etc. So, how do others overcome these sorts (and perhaps other sorts) of challenges?
