As it seems that not a lot of people is using these sharepoint newsgroups I
would like to know if there is a state-of-the-art Sharepoint forum somewhere
out there?
I can't seem to find a good one and searching on Google just sends me to
pages where the Sharepoint forum (webpart) is being praised (for some reason)

Dear Wassini,

I am very sorry to say that is incorrect and no one can judge which one is
best because not all Five Fingers are the same so you will have different
answers everywhere similary the same situation when you go to a doctor.

Nothing in life comes for free, so incase you feel that your question is not
answered in this forum, you can always contact Microsoft Global Technical
Support Center (GTSC) and PAY and get what you need. I have done that & trust
me I get what I need.

Best Regards,

There are Microsoft SharePoint forums too.

I don't know whether *you* would describe them as state-of-the-art
though ...

The address for the list of SP forums is

http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/default.aspx?ForumGroupID=328&SiteID=1

I think this is a great forum. I have gotten tons of support, answers and
learn tons from watching other folk's questions get answered.

I guess you need to better define state of the art. What does that even
mean??

You want a forum where all the work is done for you? Where you get end to
end answers? Or do you mean that you want a forum where people are working
on very high end sps systems? I just dont know what you mean.

I dont think you are going to find any of that. Think about it. The people
who post here are tech pros. So typically they dont need end to end answers
because they are working on the problem already. There are some that do want
all the work and answers but those guys need different kind of help. ;)

If you are an end user, then this may not be your forum. For an end user, I
recommend a Microsoft course or a books for dummies. No pun intended. They
are great starting points. Then you can come back when you are knee deep in
an implementation of something and you will find this forum stellar.

What I use:

- these MS newsgroups
- the actual web forums at the wonderfully redundant URL:
http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/sharepoint/
- The MindSharp Yahoo group:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/sharepointdiscussions/
- http://www.sharepointu.com/

So far this forum is the best forum. though there are many flaws. I love this forum, you can find large number of questions and answers, on top of that you can learn a lot from it. Visiters here are end users, their opinions are very pragmatic.

I am supposed to open a Infopath form from a document library in a sharepoint site, and the infopath form will be saved into a forms library, and when i open the infopath form i should also keep the information on the specific document from which the infopath form was opened, and i some how need to link this document and the related entry in the forms library, can you suggest me a way to achieve this?
