I was trying to test sharepoint designer, and I tried testing just adding a
button to the defaul.master page, and saved it. I then tried to open the
sharepoint site up and it gave a "File Not Found" error. We then took the
button out a made the default.master how it was before, and it still is
giving us the same error. Can someone please help us with this. Is there
anyway to reset the default.master or get it working again?

Thank You

You could revert the master page to site definition using SPD 2007.

Right-click the file n SharePoint Designer and select revert to site
definition.

How to apply default.master changes to site and all subsites? SharePoint I'm stumped. I've created a main site. From that main site, I've sites which seem to have their own master pages. Later, I changed the main site default.master in SPD and then I right clicked it and chose "Set as Default Master Page" hoping that would apply it "down" to the sub sites. It didn't. And
Anonymous users cannot see graphics from default.master page SharePoint Greetings all. . . I customized a typical master page from SharePoint with nothing too fancy, just a Flash document. I coded / linked everything properly, and the code for the Flash animation appears immediately after the tag on the default.master page, not affecting or interacting with any SharePoint code, which is what I want. The animation shows up like I want it to to see this animation obviously. Any help or insight would be much appreciated. Thanks! Can't Check-out or Copy master pages in SharePoint Designer SharePoint I have installed SharePoint designer and want to copy my master template and then amend it. When I load the MOSS 2007 project in SharePoint Designer it loads correctly, however when i navigate to the default.master file in the _catalogs folder, I right click the default.master file and the options to "copy" and "check out" are greyed out (not enabled).
