SharePoint - removing inactive items from list

I am running SharePoint Services 2.0. I recently setup several lists of
active items that I am working on. Is there some way that I can mark or
classify items that I complete so that they do not show up in my view. I am
very new to sharepoint so any help would be appreciated.

TIA

I was able to figure this out...I was able to create a view and filter out
orders that way.
