Editing a template

I am new to SPS2.0. I have recently setup a template for a custom list. I
would now like to make changes to that template and do not know how to. Is
it possible to edit an already created template or do I need to delete the
template and create a new one. If I have to delete a template how do I do
that?

All list templates are stored in List Template Gallery.  You can get to that
from Site Settings.  You will need to create a new list using the list
template that you had created earlier.  Then make needed changes to that
list.  Lastly, save this list as a *new* list template.
