Hy,

I want to create a list of items, to be seem by public, private or admin,
being this a multiple choice column.

How to do this? Creating different views?

Please take attention that i'm newbie so the stupid may be basic and the
answer probably too.

Thanks

We need to know whether you are running a v2 (WSS 2.0 or SPS 2003) or a
v3 product (WSS 3.0 or MOSS 2007)

You can't in either case have security based selection on columns but
there are different security options in v2 and v3.

Now that I read your message again, you seem to be wanting to have a
column that contains three values and based on the values there is who
sees the item.

It's not possible to do this.

In the v3 products you can go down to item level when specifying who
accesses an item but this is not done via the values in a column but by
using Modify Settings etc. that typically only an Admin can add.

It is in any way not a practical way of doing security for more than a
handful of items and so you are back to the other standard v3 options of
security access per folder or per document library (or per sub-site or
site).

Thanks for the reply mike

Yes, that is what i wanted to do, but then how can i overcome this? I could
create differrent views of the same list based on my criteria, but then i
couldnt use the same view to return different results accordong to users or
group permissions could i?

Do you or anyone has an alternative suggestion to overcome this?
