SharePoint - Disappearing files from Multiple Upload

We are using WSS 3.0 with various versions of Office 2003 and 2007. A user
with Office 2007 Pro is uploading multiple documents to a folder on our site
(she has Contribute rights) and other users cannot see these documents.
She sent me a screen shot which shows these files, but even when I'm logged
in as Administrator I cannot see these files (I'm also using Office 2007 Pro).
I've also tried to go through SharePoint Designer to see if the files are
listed under the folders there, but again nothing.
Has anyone heard of anything like this before? Is it possible that these
files are still on her local computer and not uploaded at all?
Very bizarre.

This is a new feature of WSS 3.0. If a user uploads files that require
metadata to be filling out, the files will remain hidden from EVERYONE
(including administrator) until the metadata has been filled out.
Have the user who uploaded the files go to the document library and fill out
all required metadata and then the files will be visible to all.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for your help and answer - I suspected that had something to do with
it.
Now can I ask you why this field (Title) is still showing as a required
field (i.e. it has an asterisk next to it on the Edit Page), even though it
is not marked as required when I look at the column settings?
Paul Liebrand replied...
The title column is a required column the the WSS architecture, you cannot
change this.

Using Sharepoint 2010 for data storage but still running full Access client with vba and normal forms SharePoint Some time ago, Albert Kallah wrote that with Access 2010 it was possible to store access 2010 data on Sharepoint 2010 but still run the Access client in windows much as a "normal" access client accessing the data on Sharepoint 2010. sits on SharePoint. You can also have the application sit on SharePoint and a copy gets pulled down sure local machine when you click on and on the SharePoint site, you will need access installed for this to occur. So, in this case we even replication via the internet. This seems much slicker. Again my interest is data on sharepoint 2010 and use normal windows / Access clients on each user's PC. I am not

Moving to SharePoint - Advice? SharePoint I have had several clients ask about putting their Access database on the web. So the inevitable any longer: I am going to have to get up to speed on SharePoint - specifically as it relates to porting Access 2010 dbs and linking the two. Any advice other resources that might be helpful. Also, I imagine I will have to purchase some SharePoint hosting for development and testing, correct? Anyone have any recommendations for inexpensive hosts for single-person developers? Thanks in advance for any assistance!
