SharePoint - how to upgrade virtual server to 6.0.2.8117

I had to rebuild my Web front end box for my Sharepoint environment. I have
applied WSS SP2 and Sharepoint Portal Server 2003 SP2 but my virtual server
says it is at version 6.0.2.6568. Now I can't restore my portal because it
is looking for version 6.0.2.8117. There is absolutely no documentation I
can find anywhere to explain the patch/fix I'm missing that needs to be
installed to update to version 6.0.2.8117. Does anyone have an idea of how
to update to this?
Thanks,
Marty

6.0.8000.0 is WSS + post SP2 rollup (KB900929)
The 6.0.2.8117 was a security fix. I saw a message saying which one in one
of the sharepoint newsgroups a couple of months ago (but stupidly didn't add
it then to my list of WSS 2.0 version numbers included here
http://www.asaris.de/sites/walsh/Lists/WSS%20FAQ/DispForm.aspx?ID=71 so
aplogies for that).
You might be able to find it via a Google Groups advanced search - it will
be in either .windowsservices; .general; .portalserver or
.setup_and_administration because I only monitor those four newsgroups.

I did the Google advanced search for you.
You need to apply "the KB924881 DST patch for SharePoint Services".
Now I will go and add this to that FAQ article ...

Happy to help. Can you clear up something for me, please.
Did you need to only add this fix (KB924881) or did you need to add KB900929
first as well ?

SharePoint Using Sharepoint 2010 for data storage but still running full Access client with vba and normal forms Kallah wrote that with Access 2010 it was possible to store access 2010 data on Sharepoint 2010 but still run the Access client in windows much as a "normal" access client, accessing the data on Sharepoint 2010. sits on SharePoint. You can also have the application sit on SharePoint and a copy gets pulled down sure local machine when you click on and on the SharePoint site, you will need access installed for this to occur. So, in this case we even replication via the internet. This seems much slicker. Again my interest is data on sharepoint 2010 and use normal windows / Access clients on each user's PC. I am not
