SharePoint - Sharepoint Modified dates vs Date Modified in Explorer View

Asked By JudyB on 09-Jan-09 07:42 AM
Hi, the "Modified" date on documents on our SharePoint web site
sometimes is different than the "Date Modified" displayed for the same
document in Explorer View within SharePoint. Teh Explorer View
Modified Date is usually earlier than the date on the web site but the
most current document is still what is retrieved if you open the
document in explorer.

Anyone know if this is a bug or deliberate for some reason? It's very
misleading. Thx, JudyB

We also have experienced this issue and have not found any resolution. I
would be interested in learning more from Microsoft on this.

It's not a bug. The "Modified" date on in a list/library view are the dates
that the SQL record was last modified. Or in other words, the last time the
list item properties information was edited. In Explorer View, you should be
seeing the actual document modified date.
