The SPFarm.GetObject requires a Guid as input how can I determine the Guid so
that I can get an instance of the SPFarm object?

You'll find that the
microsoft.public.sharepoint.development_and_programming is the place to
ask this kind of question.

When you post there please say which SharePoint product/version you have.
