SharePoint - Uninstall MOSS

Asked By DRedDog

How do I remove MOSS 2007 completely from my computers?

I attempted to install MOSS 2007 on two VMs: one with the SQL Server
Sharepoint_Config, etc. and the other with the web front end. This
installation was not successful - the Central Administration page is blank.

I have decided to abandon this installation and start over from scratch. But
this time I will only install WSS 3.0.

Please tell me how to remove all the Sharepoint related software.

Please do the below

Go to Add and Remove program
Uninstall MOSS from there
After that is done you need to do two things manually:
1. Delete registry entries from the SharePoint boxes
2. Delete the databases in SQL

Registry entries those you look for are:

a) Delete the below folders
From HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office Server\12.0
-Install Path (default is C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office Servers\12)

From HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server
Extensions\12.0
-Location (default is C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12)

b) Delete the following registry hives:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office Server\12.0
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server
Extensions\12.0

[x32] ?
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\OSERVER
[x64] ?
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\OSERVER

c) Delete the following folders:
C:\%CommonProgramFiles%\Microsoft Shared\SERVER12

Hope this gives the information that you were looking for.

Manual installation is only required if you are not able to uninstall using
Add Remove Programs

You can remove Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 by uninstalling it.
Uninstalling removes most files and subfolders located in the installation
folders. Microsoft SQL Server databases are detached, but are not removed
completely from the database server. When you remove Office SharePoint
Server 2007, all user data is left in the database files. If any language
template packs have been installed on the server, you should uninstall them
before you complete the procedure to uninstall Office SharePoint Server
2007.

Membership in Farm Administrators group or the Administrators group on the
local server computer is the minimum required to complete this procedure.

Wizard page, click Next.

6.On the Change your installation of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server
2007 Options page, click Remove, and then click Continue. A confirmation
message appears.

7.Click Yes to remove Office SharePoint Server 2007. A warning message
appears.

8.Click OK to continue. A confirmation message appears.

If you did not remove the language template packs before you uninstalled
and then reinstalled Office SharePoint Server 2007, you must run Repair for
each language template pack on the server. After the repair operation is

Moving to SharePoint - Advice? SharePoint I have had several clients ask about putting their Access database on the web. So the inevitable any longer: I am going to have to get up to speed on SharePoint - specifically as it relates to porting Access 2010 dbs and linking the two. Any advice other resources that might be helpful. Also, I imagine I will have to purchase some SharePoint hosting for development and testing, correct? Anyone have any recommendations for inexpensive hosts for single-person developers? Thanks in advance for any assistance! Sharepoint 2010 on Windows XP? SharePoint I am a developer wanting to learn Sharepoint. Last Saturday, I met a .NET architect that told me the new version of Sharepoint (version 2010) was designed to run on a desktop computer running Windows (not Windows Server). I am still using Windows XP SP3. Can I install the trial version of Sharepoint 2010 on my Windows XP? Will Sharepoint 2010 work on Windows XP?
