SharePoint - ADFS vs LDAP Proxy vs Virtual Identity Server

Hi All,

We have a SharePoint Intranet website that runs on our Intranet and
uses Windows authentication. Users from our company can login to the
site using their windows ids. There are 6 more business units in our
organization, each with its own network and active directory. We would
like to give the facility to the users of these business units to
login to our sharepoint intranet site using their windows ids.

However Business units networks cannot have trust relationships with
our domain and vise versa.

We have been looking at a few solutions like -
1. ADFS
2. Symlabs LDAP Proxy (http://symlabs.com/products/ldap-proxy/)
3. Virtual Identity server (http://www.optimalidm.com/Products/VIS/
VISforSharePoint/Default.aspx)

ADFS looks like a very large exercise and complicated and VIS looks
like its a costly thing to implement so LDAP proxy looks like a good
option.

Can anyone share their experience in implementing a similar scenario
and what is the best option here in your opinion?

Your insight would be greatly appreciated!!!

Many thanks!!!

Symlabs LDAP Proxy is the option we selected for combining our multiple internal AD forests.

It is simple to use, and the symlabs proffessional services team is great.
