I am trying to configure SSO and getting this error " You do not have the
rights to perform this operation" on the "Manage Server Settings for Single
Sign-On" page.
Event Log has this error:
User <domain>\<user> failed to configure the single sign-on server. The
error returned was 0x80630005. Verify this account has sufficient permissions
and try again.

Did you find a resolution to this? I am having the exact same problem, and
am fairly certain I'm following the process correctly. Using an ID which is
a -domain account, -farm account, - local Admin group, -dbcreator role.
Yet I get the exact same error you mention.
Thanks!

Recreate ssp timer job? SharePoint I used stsadm -o deletessptimerjob . . . to delete the job "User Profile Full that has the correct permissions (I know this because it worked before I removed the ssp timer job) 3. No, we use Windows authentication, also works like a charm. . . So there's no way to get the ssp timer job back? I do not know the resolution off hand but I would focus stsadm -o enumssptimerjobs -title "Shared services provider" (Shared services provider is the name of my ssp, just switch to yours. . .) My result is: SSP Timer Job Id = "44ba93c7-5731-4096-a0cb-295ee7e8eb6c" Display Name = "Audience Compilation Job" SSP Timer Job Id = "f652a44e-cae3-4619-9076-33c2174a2757" Display Name = "User Profile Change Job SSP Timer Job Id = "9e84b46c-e6c1-4868-9710-63ae44118941" Display Name = "User Profile Change Cleanup Job" SSP Timer Job Id = "e686cded-583d-4a71-85e1-a017cb2f94ca" Display Name = "Distribution List Import Job" SSP
Search service is offline, no search even on new SSP's SharePoint Well where do I start, we've been working on fixing the search on our Intranet SSP for days and are not getting very far but I believe we're getting close search has been off-line will not come back online even if we create new SSP's! We've setup a new server as it all appeared to point to a Intranet_Content_DB, IntranetSSP_Content_DB & IntranetSSP_Search_DB) but still nothing. So we created a brand new application, site and SSP and nothing. When we go to the either of the SSP admin sites and click on Search settings we get: page in SharePoint Central Administration to Remaining disk space: E: 15GB SSPs hosted: IntranetSSP, SharedServices1 Shared Service Providers with Search Enabled SSP name: IntranetSSP Crawling Status: Search service offline Items in index: 6706 Propagation status: Search service offline SSP name: SharedServices1 Crawling Status: Search service offline Items in index: 0 Propagation status: Search service are some more details: 051ac206-d635-4f04-b751-aeb332834fbb - This is the index for the SSP which can be found on E: \ SharePoint Data \ Microsoft Office Servers \ 12.0 \ Data \ Office
