SharePoint - Timer Jobs Missing alert timer job

Hello,
Can any one point me in the right direction or tell me how to
reinstall a Timer job definition for Immediate Alerts.
Some how one of the Web Applications lost its Timer job to allow
sending of the Alert email. I have tried disabling and reinabling
Alerts on the web application but the Timer job was never recreated.
I looked through the Administrator's Companion and google, but I was
unable to find an answer.
Version: Sharepoint 2007
Timer Job Definition missing is : Immediate Alerts
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hey , I am Having the exact same issue. The Immeduiate Alerts Time job is
not started for one of my Sharepoint Web Applications, and alerts are not
working.
Anyone have any Ideas? (Microsoft?)

FYI I found the answer on another thread. If alerts are not working and you
dont see a timer job definition titled 'Immediate Alerts' for your site you
need to use these stsadm commands.
stsadm.exe -o setproperty -url http://mysite.mydomain.com -pn alerts-enabled
-pv true
stsadm.exe -o setproperty -url http: http://mysite.mydomain.com -pn
job-immediate-alerts -pv "every 5 minutes"

Just like how you guys found how to re-add the Immediate Alerts timer...
Does anybody know how to add other timers such as Workflow?
My main site collection has this timer missing... all other test-sites and
newly made collections do have this timer and the features that are not
working in my main site work on these.

I did not see any workflow timers until I downloaded the SharePoint Designer
2007 trial and used it to build a workflow in my site then it worked.

I am actually using the full version of this tool... and have it installed in
two different locations. Even if I created workflows in this site collection,
the Task notifications (e-mails) do not work.

SharePoint MOSS 2007 fails during full installation even id 27745 We have SQL 2008 installed on but in same domain, installed all as per the instructions here http: / / blogs.msdn.com / sharepoint / using full installation.
