I'm very confused, please some one helps me.

What are the required components to build a web application using
sharepoint?

There are different components such as sharepoint services, sharepoint
server and sharepoint designer. As I know sharepoint services is a
core component and it is essential one. What about sharepoint server
and sharepoint designer?

Can I build application using sharepoint services and sharepoint
server only?
Or I need to use sharepoint designer?

Also, if I'm using visual studio 2005, does this replace the need of
sharepoint designer?

You will need access to either a Windows SharePoint Services or Microsoft
Office SharePoint Server environment (to test with if nothing else).

You can make changes to the SharePoint system using SharePoint Designer (aka
Son of Frontpage) but if you are going to be writing your own custom web
parts you will need Visual Studio 2005. VS2005 does not really replace
SharePoint Designer since the two products fill different needs.

Using Sharepoint 2010 for data storage but still running full Access client with vba and normal forms SharePoint Some time ago, Albert Kallah wrote that with Access 2010 it was possible to store access 2010 data on Sharepoint 2010 but still run the Access client in windows much as a "normal" access client, accessing the data on Sharepoint 2010. sits on SharePoint. You can also have the application sit on SharePoint and a copy gets pulled down sure local machine when you click on and on the SharePoint site, you will need access installed for this to occur. Sharepoint designer 2007 / Sharepoint Solution generator / VS2005 SharePoint Hi, My environment is WSS 3.0 on Windows server 2003. Using Visual studio 2005, I compiled and deployed the solution on the web server successfully. However I
Sharepoint / AD Group Permission Problem SharePoint We don't seem to have any consistency when applying permissions to AD groups for items within a sharepoint site, and particularly on Reporting Services reports (running in Sharepoint integrated mode). For example, if we create a report, and give an AD group permission is targeted to the AD group). To further confuse things, at some (seemingly random) stage, Sharepoint does seem to recognise that a new user has been added to the group, and I guess the question here is: What do I have to do to ensure that Sharepoint is recognizing changes to AD groups for permissions? A full profile import does not seem t know of anything else that could affect it? Thanks in advance for any assistance!
